Manacá at the iF Design Award
The Manacá chair, designed for the Brazilian brand Marê, was selected for the second phase of the iF Product Design Award. The award, given annually for 70 years by the iF International Forum Design is a prominent seal of excellence in design. There are more than 5,500 registrations from around 59 countries every year.
The design of the Manacá chair stands out for its balance between lightness and structural rigidity. Produced in Cumaru, a dense wood of controlled origin, the item has a seat and back in nautical rope woven in a zigzag pattern, which gives the model expressiveness. It also has versions with and without arms. Recently launched, the chair has been a sales success in the Brazilian high-end decoration market.
Our studio has already been a finalist for the iF Design Award in other editions, such as 2021, with the Milá cast aluminum chair.
